Playoffs

Well, we're obviously sad here in the Heinrich household about the outcome of the Brewers' postseason. But I feel lucky to have attended a playoff game at all, and while of course I wish they would have won on Sunday, I actually still enjoyed the game. For one thing, they gave us Thunder Sticks! Those are fun! : ) Looking around the stadium, it felt like somebody had just given 40,000 little kids the exact same toy, and they were all playing with them at the same time.

And anyway, it's hard not to have fun when the view from your seats looks like this ...

And the crowd looks like this (and sounded several thousand times louder than you might expect from looking at this picture) ...

The crowd stayed relatively fired up throughout the game, even when the Brewers repeatedly blew great chances to score. And the "Let's Go Brewers!" chants didn't end when the game did—a lot of fans stayed around to cheer for what was, after all, a pretty successful season.

Now we just have to get Elsa (and Bob) used to the idea that the Brewers are done until April. See you in 2009, Miller Park!
