As the baseball season winds down and the Brewers complete a nail-biting final week, we decided to take Elsa to her first Brewers game since last year. Bob was able to get
three seats in the upper deck free of charge for last Wednesday's game, so we thought we might as well give it a shot with her. We'd been reluctant to take her this summer, because we didn't think she'd have the attention span, and the game times usually conflicted with naps or bedtime. But having her own seat seemed to make a world of difference, and she had a lot of fun!

She loved clapping along with the music and the cheering. Probably her favorite cheer was when they play that bugle song and everybody yells "Charge!" She always yelled "Charge!", complete with a forward pointing motion, although she hardly ever yelled it at the correct time. She also loved the sausage race, of course. She recently got ahold of Bob's stuffed Cinco (the Mexican chorizo), and she really likes that little guy, so we were pulling for Cinco to win it (sadly, it was Hotdog by a mile). I don't know why she's gotten so attached to Cinco over the other sausages, but he's definitely her favorite. Here we are watching the sausages:

Elsa lasted through 6 whole innings, which meant we didn't leave the park until 9 p.m., an hour past her bedtime. But she was her usual happy, sweet self throughout, and the ladies sitting behind us said they were enjoying watching Elsa even more than the game. Best of all, the Brewers won, and they won their next two games as well, so as of today we are one game ahead of the Mets for the Wild Card, with two games to go!
Here's Elsa hanging out with "Prince" in the dugout:

And introducing Cinco to his mini-me:

This afternoon all three of us, plus my friend Sheila from Chicago (who unfortunately is a Cubs fan, but what can you do?), are headed back to the Miller Park, with the possibility of seeing the Brewers clinch a playoff spot if they can manage to beat the Cubs yet again (and if the Mets lose again). So keep all your fingers and toes crossed for the Brew Crew, and for the Marlins to beat the Mets. As Elsa says, "Gooooooo Brewers! Gooooooo Prince! Gooooooooo Ricky!"

Maybe you ate a lot of Mexican food while you were pregnant with Elsa so she feels that bond with Cinco. :)
I bet you guys are excited from the outcome last night! Yeah Brewers!
