Oktoberfest

Our annual family Oktoberfest outing was this past weekend. We also went the weekend before with people from Bob's work, and Elsa loved it. Unfortunately, Bob had promised that she would see some "big tubas," but it turns out that the tuba players aren't there on Friday nights. She was a little disappointed about that. We told her, "The tuba players will DEFINITELY be there when we go next Saturday." But she kept saying, "No tubas, no tubas," until we got there and she finally got to see them for herself.

It was beautiful weather and we were amazed at how crowded it was this year! We had to park blocks away, and the food line was so long it almost wound out of the park (and sometimes seemed not to be moving at all).

The girls loved running around and dancing, and Karina really looked the part in her little German girl outfit.

Dancing with the grandmas.

Tipping the musicians (they play their instruments while standing on the tables during one particular song). Hope those socks were clean!

Doing the Chicken Dance with Opa (no, the Chicken Dance is not a traditional German song, but it wouldn't be a Milwaukee social gathering without it).

Finally, dancing with Mommy ...

... and Daddy. (See our other annual dancing-with-Daddy-at-Oktoberfest pictures here).
