Congratulations, Daddy!

We learned on Wednesday, Dec. 16, that Bob made partner at his firm. This is a huge accomplishment for Bob, and the girls and I are so very proud of him!

Bob has worked so hard since he joined Mayer Brown in late 2000, but when the economy went south we just weren't sure all of that work would pay off. This has not been a good year for Bob's firm. They made some layoffs and many of the remaining associates don't have a lot of work to do. Only 13 people made partner this year firm-wide—about half as many as the previous two years. Fortunately, Bob was one of the 13. We feel very lucky (although, of course, Bob's good work and long hours were a big part of it, so it wasn't all luck!)

Good job, sweetie! We couldn't be more proud of you!
