In late May, Lee went on another bender. Or she was at a fabric conference in Kansas City. I do not recall. In any event, the upshot is that I had the girls to myself for a long weekend.
On Friday, we went to my old standby: The Old German Beer Hall. We had a pretzel.
On Saturday, we went to the Bock Bier Fest at the Bavarian Inn grounds. It was not a great fest, to be honest. The weather was not the greatest, it was not very crowded when we were there, they had taken out the dumpy 1970s era playground, and the band wasn't the preferred German band. But any time the girls wear their German outfits it makes me such a happy daddy. Looks like they like it too:
The hammer that Claire "won" is still cluttering up the playroom. Thank you, Bock Bier Fest!
Sunday featured a trip to the beach, where the girls discovered a large stone. How exciting.

And then we went to McDonald's for ice cream. Daddy likes the 59-cent ice cream cone deal. Look how much faster Claire was than Elsa! In Elsa's defense, she was slowed down by having the dipped-in-chocolate cone.
The girls like ice cream almost as much as their daddy likes ice cream. There might be more ice cream-related pictures in future installments....
