We also did lots of fun things while we were staying at Ellen's house during the week leading up to the party. Carter had a birthday party while we were there, so that gave us a chance for a "girls' day out" while Carter was at his party.
Ellen made appointments for all of us to manicures/pedicures at a salon near where Carter's party was. It was the first professional manicures for both girls! Elsa got dark blue polish and Claire got bright purple. Both girls got little daisies painted on their thumb nails. Elsa said she didn't particularly like the part where they used the cuticle stick, but other than that she enjoyed it.
Here's Ellen and Mia, enjoying their spa day.
The party on Saturday was lots of fun. Gigi said she wanted it to be "like her funeral, but she gets to be there." I'm glad to say that it was definitely a more happy occasion than a funeral. : ) And of course, practically the entire family was there to honor Gigi. Here's a picture of almost all of Gigi's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We went to Nancy's house afterward the party, and Elsa was delighted to find a frog.
Grandma was not so delighted.
Here are a few more random shots from the weekend, including the good old Elsa-and-Carter comparison shot. Would you know these two are only one day apart in age? But I'm sure Carter will catch up one of these days!
Thanks to everyone in Michigan for another fun trip! Well, other than the last day. : )
