Girl Hair! Finally!

After posting the pictures of Elsa for yesterday's blog posts, I decided that the time had finally come for Elsa's first haircut. She's only 27 months after all—no rush. : ) She still doesn't have a lot up on top to work with, but what she does have was starting to look a little shaggy and messy, and it seemed like an attempt at shaping was in order. So this morning we went to Just Kidding, a hair salon in Whitefish Bay that's exclusively for kids.

Elsa got to sit in a car for the haircut AND watch an episode of Dora, so there were zero complaints during the cut.

In fact, the only crying occurred when Elsa noticed loose hair all over herself and the car. For some reason Elsa is completely grossed out by hair. She hates it. Whenever she finds a loose hair on her shirt, she gets this horrified look on her face and comes to me to pick it off. So you can imagine how she might react after a haircut.

The stylist was also nice enough to put Elsa's hair in pigtails. Elsa was a little unsure during the styling, but seemed happy with the finished results.

I don't think she has quite enough hair to do this on a regular basis just yet—hopefully soon! Also, later she kept telling me that her hair was "twisted" and that she wanted the piggy tails taken out. So I think any future styling options will take some getting used to.

So without further ado, here are the before and after pictures of Elsa's makeover. Before:

Wow, Elsa looks so cute in her new hairdo. We loved the Thanksgiving pictures too. She is turning into quite a grown-up girl. We can't wait to see her at Christmas time.
