Opa's Birthday

We want to Opa's house to celebrate his 61st birthday on Sunday, and got these cute pictures of Elsa and Karina together. We were amazed at how, all of a sudden, they seem to be interacting so much more—they imitated each other, smiled and laughed at each other, and generally just enjoyed each other's company. During dinner, Karina leaned her head way over to one side, and Elsa imitated her. Then Karina leaned her head way over to the other side, and Elsa imitated her again. Then Elsa kept doing it, and later Karina imitated her. It was endless entertainment for them, and for Tanya and I as well!

Karina and Elsa did see each other only a week ago in Door County, so maybe they're actually starting to recognize and remember each other? Karina apparently asked where the baby went after we left Door County, so it seems clear that she remembers Elsa, at least!

And here's a birthday miracle for Opa—a picture of both of them sitting still and smiling! Karina helped him blow out the candles.
