Outdoor Fun

The weather's been beautiful in the past week, so Bob, Elsa and I got out and enjoyed some fun new summertime activities.

We hung a swing for Elsa from one of the trees in our backyard. She absolutely loves it—she giggled for about 5 minutes straight the first time we put her in it!

On Sunday we went to a REAL Strawberry Festival in downtown Cedarburg, which is a cute, historic little town just north of us. We had strawberry shortcake, strawberry sundays, chocolate covered strawberries, and we sat under a big shady tree while enjoying some strawberry wine.

We also had a chance to try out the new bike trailer Bob recently bought for Elsa. Of course, that meant we also had to get her first bike helmet. Here's our little Evel Knievel trying it on (it was the smallest one they had):

And immediately deciding she'd had just about enough of that:

Here we are strapping her into the trailer. She was still totally hating that helmet.

Fortunately, once we actually took off on the bikes, she loved the ride and was all smiles—she even forgot about the helmet!

And last but not least, yesterday was swelteringly hot, so I dragged out her kiddie pool for the first time. She loved it and could have stayed in there all day, I think ... too bad it started to rain.

What great new outside fun with swinging, bicycling, and festivals to go to. And, it looks like the "whole family" is getting in on swimming pool action this summer! We're looking forward to seeing you all in August.

Love and Hugs, Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Bob
