Apple Holler


Last weekend we met Tom, Tanya, and Karina at Apple Holler, a restaurant near Kenosha featuring "farm cooking," apple orchards, farm animals, etc. Supposedly they were having a strawberry festival, complete with hayrides, strawberry picking, and other fun activities. Unfortunately, the "hay ride" was just a riding lawn mower pulling a wooden trailer completely barren of even a scrap of hay, and I didn't see a single strawberry, picked or unpicked, the entire time we were there. So although we didn't sample the farm cooking, Apple Holler gets a big thumbs down from us. But the trip wasn't a total bust—we got to see some goats walk on a catwalk high above the apple orchard, and afterwards we went to the outlet mall, where we got some good deals at Oshkosh B'Gosh and J. Crew. : ) We also got some cute pictures:
