Zoo Partying

The Foley Zoo Party is always one of our favorite summer events, and once again, it didn't disappoint.

This year the party had a Hawaiian theme, which meant Bob had an excuse to wear one of his Hawaiian shirts. Bonus.

Free rides on the train, carousel, sky glider, etc., are definitely the big attraction of the party.

Train ride.

The zoo train: An important feature of every Milwaukee childhood.

The zoo recently added a ropes course and zip line, which was also free at the party. Claire happily suited up for the little-kid ropes course.

And surprised me by loving it.

In fact, we had a hard time convincing her to get off.

Elsa was so excited to try out the zip line.

Until she got up there. And chickened out. (I wanted to do it with her, but I was wearing a skirt, and quickly realized that was totally not going to work. Only those who were actually doing the zip line were allowed up there, and Bob didn't want to do it, so that meant poor Elsa had to go up there all on her own. And the staff guy just couldn't talk her into stepping off that platform, try as he might.)

Fortunately, the pony rides made a good consolation prize. : )
