Disney: Meeting Characters

Everybody knows one of the best parts of Disney is getting to meet the Disney characters! And we checked plenty of them off our "life lists." The girls now have the autographs to prove it.

One of the highlights of our trip were our character dining experiences—we did the Princess Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle at Magic Kingdom, and dinner with Pooh and his friends at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. The character dinners are expensive, but again, we got them for free thanks to our free dining plan, and it was actually a great way to meet some of the characters without having to wait in long lines. (The character meetings were some of the longest lines we encountered in the parks.) Instead, we ate our meals while waiting for the characters to come to us, at our table. Perfect!

You totally get your money's worth of princesses at the Princess Breakfast. Belle and Rapunzel were missing from the breakfast, but most of the other biggies were there.

Claire and Snow White.

Everybody enjoyed meeting Ariel. (Including Daddy.)

Princess Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty).

Jasmine got the award for most skimpily-dressed princess.

Later on, we came across Belle in the French area of the World Showcase in Epcot. We never did find Rapunzel, unfortunately.

Tigger at the Crystal Palace dinner. Elsa told him she loves to bounce too, and she got a big thumbs up from Tigger.

And here they are with Piglet. Elsa knew there were people in the costumes and was quite curious how the costumes worked throughout our trip. I'm not sure what Claire thought of that.

Hollywood Studios was the spot to meet Toy Story characters, and we actually went through that line twice, since they sure are favorites!

Posing in "Buzz's Spaceship" while waiting to meet Buzz and Woody.

Strapped to the rocket, like Buzz was in Toy Story 1.

And trying out Stinky Pete's box for size.

Finally, meeting Woody and Buzz!

The girls sure do love Toy Story. : )

And of course, they met all the classics: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Donald. Here's Donald at the Mexico area of the World Showcase in Epcot.

The girls were quite intrigued by the fact that the more costumed characters often needed to put the autograph books right up to their "eyes" in order to sign. Beaks and large noses provided convenient resting places for the books. : )

Oh, and let's not forget Tinkerbell! Tinkerbell must have been a little chilly that evening—she was all bundled up. They also met Tinkerbell's sister, Periwinkle, from the new movie "Secret of the Wings."

Chatting with Tinkerbell.

At the end of the trip, we let the girls pick out whatever stuffed animal they wanted as a souvenir. Fittingly, Claire chose Tinkerbell.

While Elsa wanted Lady from Lady and the Tramp (which is also fitting, since I remember watching that movie with her nearly every day when I was pregnant with Claire).

P.S. Blogger tells me that this is my 500th post on Elsa's and Claire's blog! Wow! That's a lot of posts! : )
